Tamil Nadu NEET Counselling Eligibility Criteria 2024
Here are the requirements candidates need to meet to get admission to MBBS in Tamil Nadu.
Age: Candidates must be 17 years old or older by December 31, 2023.
Citizenship:
- Must be an Indian citizen and have residency in Tamil Nadu.
- OCI candidates registered under Section 7A of the Citizenship Act, 1955.
Qualifications:
- General category candidates need to achieve a minimum of 50% marks in NEET 2024.
- SC, ST, and OBC candidates must achieve at least 40% marks in NEET 2024.
- PWD candidates should secure a minimum of 45% marks in NEET 2024 if they belong to the unreserved category and 40% if they are from the reserved category.
Domicile Candidate:
- To participate in Tamil Nadu medical counselling, applicants must be recognized as residents of Tamil Nadu.
- Candidates who have completed their education from class 6 to 12 in Tamil Nadu are required to submit a nativity certificate. However, if their parents are illiterate, they need to provide their ration card, SSLC/10/12 certificate, birth certificate, or non-graduate certificate.
- Residents from other states living in Tamil Nadu will be considered in the open category since they are not considered domicile residents.
- Tamil Nadu residents who have studied partially from class 6 to class 12 in another state must provide the relevant parent documentation mentioned above. The nativity certificate cannot be substituted with a permanent residence certificate.

Documents Needed for NEET Counselling in Tamil Nadu 2024
