The NEET cut off 2023 refer to the minimum marks that a candidate needs to score in order to qualify for the exam. Only those candidates who have fulfilled the NEET cutoff 2023 criteria are eligible to participate in the counseling process. The cut-off score varies for different categories and it is declared by the NTA year after year. The NEET cut-off 2023 score is decided based on various factors like the level of difficulty of the exam, the number of candidates appearing each year and the number of seats available in the colleges. NEET Cut-off 2023  has another category in which the score is given by the college for admission purposes. This NEET cut-off score determines the eligibility of a candidate to apply and complete the admission process in a particular college. Eg: The NEET cut-off 2023 score declared by the NTA will be the last rank acquired by the candidate which may cause a problem during the admission process while choosing a college whereas a higher score indicates a lower rank which is considered a good score. In such cases, the candidate will have a choice of multiple colleges during the counseling procedure.

Admissions

The process of admission is also known as NEET Counseling. The counseling process starts once the candidate has cleared the exam with qualifying marks to proceed for the counseling process to get admission in a medical college. The NEET counseling process is conducted step by step from registration of the candidate to seat allocation. Counseling is conducted in online and offline modes depending on the respective state and central authorities. The students applying online should complete all the formalities and procedures online whereas the candidates applying offline should report to the designated venues from time to time. The NEET counseling process is a time-bound affair, and being aware of the important dates and timelines is crucial for a successful application. The process of counseling is conducted by various authorities nation and state wide namely:- 

  1. Medical Counseling Committee(MCC)
  2. All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS)
  3. Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
  4. Karnataka Examinations Authority(KEA)
  5. Directorate of medical education and research(DMER)

 Since it is conducted by various authorities, the procedures tend to vary depending on the type of seats and colleges. These NEET counseling centers provide guidance, support, and assistance to candidates throughout the NEET counseling process, ensuring a smooth and transparent admission process.

Medical Colleges

These are medical institutions that offer courses related to health science and medicine. Their admission eligibility is based on the score/rank of the NEET exam. There are 677 medical colleges all over India offering a total of 1,04,388 MBBS seats. 

Apart from undergraduate, they also offer postgraduate courses and doctoral degrees. They play a crucial role in educating and training future healthcare professionals, conducting medical research and contributing to the advancement of medical science and healthcare. Every medical college has a NEET cut-off rank/score in terms of admission eligibility. These NEET cut-off 2023 scores are determined by the national and state counseling committee.
