MCC NEET PG counselling 2024

The NEET PG 2024 counselling will take place online at mcc.nic.in, organized by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

There will be four rounds for the NEET PG 2024 All India Quota counselling: round 1, round 2, a mop-up round, and a stray vacancy round. Students can only register for fresh All India Quota admissions in the first three rounds; there will be no registrations for the spot round.

To take part in the counselling process, eligible students need to register, pay the necessary fees, and choose their desired courses and colleges. Admissions will be determined based on the selected choices, NEET PG 2024 rank, and seat availability.

Categories of NEET PG counselling

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) manages the NEET PG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate) counselling process for admissions to postgraduate medical programs in India. The counselling consists of two main parts:

AIQ Counselling:

AIQ counselling covers 50% of the seats available in government medical colleges across India. The MCC organizes this process based on the candidates’ NEET PG ranks and preferences to allocate seats.

State Quota Counselling:

This counselling is handled by the state authorities for the remaining 50% of seats in government medical colleges, including any seats that were not filled during the AIQ counselling. Seats are assigned based on the candidates’ NEET PG ranks and their chosen preferences.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) manages the counselling process for NEET PG admissions to postgraduate medical programs in India. The counselling process consists of the following steps:

Step 1: Registration

Candidates must register on the MCC website to take part in the NEET PG counselling process. This involves providing personal and academic details, uploading necessary documents, and paying the registration fees.

Step 2: Choosing Preferences

After completing the registration, candidates need to choose their preferred courses and colleges from a provided list. They can modify or remove their selections until they submit their choices.

Step 3: Seat Allocation

The MCC conducts seat allocation based on the candidates’ NEET PG ranks, their chosen preferences, and the available seats.

Step 4: Accepting the Seat

After the final seat allocation, candidates must either accept their assigned seat or opt for an upgrade in the next round of counselling.

Step 5: Reporting to the Assigned College

After accepting the seat, candidates must report to the assigned college within the given timeframe, bringing all necessary documents to complete the admission process.

Step 6: Extra Rounds

The process is repeated for each additional round of counselling if the candidate opts for an upgrade in the following counselling session.
