The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) organizes NEET counselling for All India Quota (AIQ) seats, which include seats in Deemed, Central Universities, AIIMS, and JIPMER. State counselling authorities handle the remaining 85% of state quota seats and seats in private colleges.
Typically, there are four stages of counselling:

- Round 2
- Mop-up round
- Stray vacancy round
Each round provides an opportunity to secure a seat based on your preferences and rank.

To register for NEET counselling, visit the official website of the respective counselling authority (e.g., MCC for AIQ or state-specific websites for state counselling). AIQ (All India Quota) allows students from any state to apply for 15% of seats in government colleges nationwide. In contrast, the state quota allows students to apply for 85% of seats within their own states. Some institutions, like AIIMS and Central Universities, fill 100% of their seats through AIQ.
Yes, you are eligible to participate in both AIQ and State Quota counselling simultaneously. Be sure to stay informed about the timelines and procedures for each to ensure you meet all deadlines.
The Mop-up round is held to fill any vacant seats left after the first two rounds of counselling. It provides an opportunity for candidates who haven’t secured a seat to participate and possibly receive an allotment.
